SSC MTS 2026

SSC MTS (Multi Tasking Staff) is an exam for 10th pass candidates to get Group C government jobs such as Peon, Daftary, Jamadar, and Junior Gestetner Operator in various government departments.

SSC MTS is the easiest among SSC exams. Questions are at 10th-level difficulty. With 2-3 months of consistent practice, most candidates can score well.

SSC MTS salary is ₹18,000 - ₹56,900 per month (Pay Level 1) along with DA, HRA, and other government benefits.

SSC MTS is one computer-based test split into two mandatory sessions of 45 minutes each. Session-I has 40 questions for 120 marks (Numerical and Mathematical Ability, Reasoning Ability and Problem Solving — 20 questions each). Session-II has 50 questions for 150 marks (General Awareness and English Language and Comprehension — 25 questions each). Every question carries 3 marks, for 90 questions and 270 marks in total.

It differs by session. Session-I has no negative marking, so attempt every question. Session-II deducts a full mark for each wrong answer, which makes guessing there expensive.

SSC MTS requires only a Class 10 (matriculation) pass, making it the most accessible SSC exam. The general age limit is 18-25 years, with relaxations for reserved categories.
